Sullivan began his career as a sports agent in the 1980s after earning a law degree from Villanova University. He gained experience in the industry while working with Leigh Steinberg, where he assisted in negotiating record-breaking contracts for football stars like Steve Young and Warren Moon.
Sullivan's transition from the Steinberg firm to a partnership Jeff Sperbeck marked a significant moment in his career. The establishment of the Sullivan and Sperbeck firm led to the negotiation of record-setting and unique contracts for NFL stars like Mike Vick, Aaron Rogers, and David Carr. The acquisition of the firm by Octagon in 2000 further solidified Sullivan's presence in the industry.
Sullivan's transition away from the agent business in 2012 led him to the Denver, where he played a crucial role in negotiating contracts several free-agent stars. His efforts helped the team build a Super Bowl roster, which ultimately led to the team winning the Lombardi Trophy after the 2015 season.
