Jeff Schwartz is a transformative figure in professional basketball representation, known for his strategic acumen, client-first philosophy, and the founding of Excel Sports Management. As one of the most powerful agents in the NBA, Schwartz has negotiated over $3 billion in player contracts, representing a roster that includes MVPs, All-Stars, and rising talents.

Born on February 24, 1964, in New Haven, Connecticut, Schwartz earned his B.A. from Miami University in Ohio and his Juris Doctor from Temple University Law School. He began his career in law, clerking for a federal bankruptcy judge in Los Angeles before joining a Connecticut law firm. In 1992, Schwartz transitioned into sports management at IMG, representing tennis legends like Pete Sampras and Martina Hingis.

In 2002, Schwartz founded Excel Sports Management, initially focusing on basketball. His early clients included Jason Kidd, Paul Pierce, and Lamar Odom. Under his leadership, Excel expanded into a multi-sport agency, adding baseball and golf divisions with the inclusion of notable agents & clients.

Excel has since grown to represent over 180 clients across various sports, securing major endorsement deals and establishing partnerships with leading brands. The agency has been recognized multiple times by the Sports Business Journal and consistently ranks among Forbes' most powerful sports agencies.
